Peter Corbett – Fine Art Digital Printing

I use state-of-the-art printers and software for my own Fine Art Photographs. Combined with 15 years solid experience and a selection of the highest quality Fine Art 100% acid free cotton rag and traditional photo papers I achieve beautiful archival prints with Epson Inkjet Printers: I offer the same pristine service to my clients using the following:

Epson 9900 Pro – 44″ printer.

Epson 3880 Pro – 17″ printer.

Epson 3800 Pro – 17″ printer.

My printing service is offered to discerning customers who demand the very best Fine Art Prints. I am not a “push-button printer”. My aim is to work with photographers and artists in order to interpret individual vision and achieve only excellence.

With over 15 years experience in Digital Inkjet Printing I use Epson with an independent RIP called Mirage.

Most of the work I do is on high quality matte Fine Art media such as Hahnemuhle, Epson and Canson, I normally carry stock of their media.

Black and White Printing

In many cases it’s a Black and White print that conveys the artist’s “final expression”.

“The philosophy… is directed to the final expression of the photographer’s visualisation”

The Print ~ Ansel Adams

Digital files with ample dynamic range can render spectacular monotone inkjet images. However digital printing – as with the film/chemical process – is dependant on experience and is considered an art in its own right. For black and white I use a different RIP called QTR and a printing tool called Print Tool. These high-end printing tools are immensely flexible and allow users to build complex intricate profiles (curves) to control precise ink flow and black and white toning.

Colour Printing

Epson HDR® Ultrachrome Pigment Inks use a 10 colour inkset with either Matte Black for Art Papers or Photo Black for photographic (Gloss and Semigloss) papers. In order to exploit the full colour tonal range and produce Fine Art Prints a colour managed workflow is essential.

If you are confident with your output files then I normally produce a test print or proof for approval then use a RIP called Mirage to drive one of the Epson Printers for outstanding results. In this case I normally expect the file to be embedded with a standard icc. colour profile which is checked for integrity as the file is loaded into Mirage

For customers who are not sure of their colour management, I offer a bespoke soft proofing service where the output colour reproduction is simulated with the chosen media, rendering intent and output media/ink profile – please enquire for further details.

Print Purchasing

I do not publish a standard price list. I prefer to discuss individual customer requirements and charge competitively.

Before sending your files, please Contact me to discuss your objective, I can then outline my printing services in detail. Once I receive the file a further discussion will establish the scope of the print job including, media, size, and any further processing - at this stage I will quote on the agreed work. On acceptance of the quote I require a 50% deposit and on receipt will forward a delivery date and delivery cost. .
